Situated in one of the largest ski areas in the Alps, you can enjoy a ski terrain with over 300 km of pistes, spread between 1,550m and 3,450m altitude, hence snow sure. Tignes is a winter sports haven, offering everything from skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, to piste basher rides, skidoo ing, a flight in a microlight, snow tubing and even ice diving (not for the faint hearted). There are many restaurants and bars to suit all tastes (and budgets) both on the pistes as well as in and around the resort. All cuisines and ages are catered for. Summer in Tignes is also a real draw to activity seekers. You can enjoy water activities on the lake such as Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Canoeing, Pedal’eau, Zorbing, and extreme Water sliding. Beach volleyball and soccer, basketball, paragliding, bike park, via ferrata and mountain biking with many chair lifts converted with a bike carrier to give you an “up” lift. There is a golf driving range, club house and restaurant and an 18 hole golf course, the highest in Europe at 2100m. The apartment is situated in the sought after district of Val Claret close to the Maison Bouvier, Maison De Tignes Tourist office and Golf Course. It is a short walk to the nearest lift “Tuffs” and close to the funicular to take you up to the dizzy heights of the Grande Motte Glacier at 3450m altitude. The apartment is set in a well established residence with all amenities on the doorstep including a mini-market, pharmacy, restaurants, bars, ski sports equipment shops. The apartment is East facing, having views over the golf course and towards the Toviere mountain and ski slopes.
Enter the apartment on the 2nd floor into the modern kitchen area with brand new appliances including electric oven and 4 burner hob with pull out extractor fan, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink unit and plentiful, white gloss doors and storage cupboards with unique leather door handles.
Leading off the hall to the left you will find the separate brand new WC and the spacious shower room with tiled floor and walls and sink unit with storage drawers.
Continue into the spacious lounge area and you will be greeted with traditional wood finish walls and ceiling with modern down lighting to give you that grand impression of space. To the right of the lounge, a new cabin style bedroom has been created with hand-made bunk beds that are fixed solidly and large enough to accommodate 2 adults in comfort. The lounge space also has a very cleverly designed fold down double bed that folds back to allow a spacious living area with built in storage space.

The legendary ski area of Espace Killy has over 300kms of marked piste and endless off-piste options - some of the most varied and exciting skiing you can find! The ski area links the two resorts of Val d'Isere and Tignes.
Val d'Isere sits at approximately 1800 metres and is a truly modern alpine village. The pretty old town of snow filled streets and Savoyard stone buildings is home to the original village church built in 1664. The resort centre is lively and vibrant, with shops, restaurants and bars to suit any budget and taste, lining the wide, spacious main-street.Every season, during summer and winter, Val d'Isere hosts all sorts of events - from Savoyard festivals or fayres show-casing local produce such as cheeses, cured meats or lace. International sporting events like the Tour de France and the World Ski Championships often stage an event here. Music festivals are often hosted during the summer and winter 2010 welcomes a stage of the World Snow Polo Masters Series!
The villages of Tignes are a little further down the valley towards Bourg St Maurice. Just like Val d'Isere, the ski area boasts wide, cruisey red runs, snow-parks for those who want to play and show off their tricks and quieter beginner areas where you can find your "skis" and build confidence - and of course immense off-piste itineraries, so much space you are bound to find untracked snow! The lively resort centre is a real haven for those looking for energetic après-ski and night-life - there are lots of bars, cafés, restaurants and night-clubs to entertain until the early hours. During the day-time there is an equal abundance of activity - the resort is just as regarded as a summer resort as it is a winter snow sports centre. You will find a superb 18-hole golf course, organised activities on the lake, skiing on the glacier, beach volleyball and football and the usual mountain biking, walking and horse-riding.
Tignes and Val d’Isere, combined, make up the world renowned ski area of Espace Killy. Tignes itself offers all year round skiing with the Grande Motte glacier, altitude of 3030 metres, being served by a modern funicular. Val d’Isere offers expert off piste skiing on the beautiful Col d’Iseran. The other 2 sectors of the linked area have more gentle runs, perfect for beginners.
Tignes is a purpose built resort. The centre is Le Lac, which was the original village. Recent remodelling work has improved its appearance dramatically. Val Claret is situated 2kms higher and is where you will find the Grande Motte funicular. A lesser known part of Tignes is Le Breviere, which lies at 1550 metres. Situated next to a picturesque lake it has maintained its small alpine village atmosphere.
As well as skiing and snowboarding, Tignes offers numerous other activities, including ice skating, snow shoeing, ice climbing and quad biking. Sports shops, supermarkets and bakers are spread throughout the resort. And there are no shortage of bars and restaurants. Le Lac is the heart of Après Ski drinks whilst the most atmospheric places to eat can be found in Val Claret.
The Eurostar offers a regular service to Bourg Saint Maurice which is at the foot of Tignes, from here a taxi transfer can be arranged. Local Airports include Lyon (approx 140km), Geneva (130km), Chambery (80km) and Grenoble (120km).
