MONT DORE is in the heart of the Auverne National Park and is one of the oldest ski resorts in France. Le Sancy is at 1850m sits at the northern side of the mountain and has 41km of slopes with the link to Super Besse on the southern side with another 43km of slopes offering alpine skiing and cross country skiing. Le Mont Dore town is at the foot of the Le Sancy. Its a pretty old Spa town with beautiful stone buildings and small streets. It has the oldest Fenicular in France.   A real traditional ambiance regional dishes, local cheeses and cured meats. It has a Thermal spa, a Casino, many restaurants, bars and shops. There is also a full size ice-skating rink, bowling alley, horse riding, tree climbing, summer tobogganing and a golf course. Events are run all year round; motor-racing, VTT challenges, jazz and blues music festivals and much more. The town benefits from three seasons Summer, Winter and the Thermal Cure.
