This spectacular, incredibly high-end ski chalet sits at the top of the authentic village of Saint Martin de Belleville in a privileged almost ski in ski out location which enjoys a picture-perfect view out across the village and surrounding mountains, with the beautiful, old church as the focal point. Boasting a stunning interior which provides a truly unique take on chalet style, and made up of two generously sized dwellings, this property is unlike anything else on the local market and is a very exciting addition. It features an apartment, with 2 bedrooms and an open plan living, kitchen and dining area; and a spacious chalet comprising 3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 living areas, a large double garage, a cleverly designed cellar and a brand new wellness area with state of the art, new generation sauna and sunken jacuzzi. A chalet boasting an extraordinarily high level of finish throughout, nestled in a sought-after village close to lift links to the world’s largest ski area, this is an investment opportunity not to be missed – with fantastic potential as both a rental property and family home.
As you approach the chalet, which is set back from the quiet road up a private driveway, the quality of design and attention to detail is immediately evident from its beautiful façade. Entering on the ground floor, you have an entrance hall which leads to a stunning custom made kitchen and dining area, a living area with fireplace- a room which is a true testament to the incredible interior design of this property, and a terrace offering the same amazing views and space for outdoor dining.
On the upper floor of the chalet, you will find another cosy living space with an office/reading area, 2 double bedrooms, and a large bathroom.
On the lower ground floor of the chalet, there is a good-sized double garage with integrated storage, a cellar beautifully designed to feature integrated wine racks on the walls, and an incredible wellness area, comprising a new generation sauna and sunken jacuzzi installed during the summer 2019- a true element of luxury.
Between the apartment and chalet there is an adjoining double bedroom which can be locked to be part of either dwelling or left open to link the two.
The apartment has its own separate entrance but can also be reached from the chalet. Entering on the ground floor, you have an entrance hall, walking into the spacious and light open plan living and dining area, with a kitchen and cosy yet modern fireplace. This room features large glass doors which open out onto a terrace, and from which you can enjoy the best view of Saint Martin there is to offer- of village and mountains alike.
On the second floor of the apartment are 2 double bedrooms, and a good-sized bathroom with bathtub and double sinks. The chalet and apartment can easily be combined to one single chalet thanks to a communicating door which could be put to use. With its custom-made features and state of art components, as well as incredible interior design, this property defines ‘luxury ski chalet’. The potential it holds kept as 2 separate dwellings or converted into one space is huge, as a unique, high-end property for both rental and personal usage.
Situated in the sought-after ski village of Saint Martin de Belleville, it is within close proximity of direct 3 Valleys ski links, and close to the heart of the village where you will find authentic cobbled streets, beautiful old buildings, and a fantastic selection of shops, bars and restaurants. This property is ideally located to enjoy the summers in Saint Martin too, with the whole Belleville Valley coming alive with a wide array of activities and events on offer, and a welcoming, year-round community of residents. A truly unique opportunity on the market.
Three Valleys Ski Area
A beautiful place all year with highly defined seasons and quiet and tranquil out of the ski season when the crowds have gone home, and then suddenly once again each winter the mountains of the Three Valleys come alive with people enjoying this vast ski area..... the largest linked skiing in the world.
The Three Valleys ski domain provides more than 600km of runs and probably the same again off-piste. In fact it should now be called the Four Valleys with the link into Orelle (Maurienne Valley) which can be accessed by ski from Val Thorens. This has also opened up some extraordinary off-piste runs. The Three Valleys provides direct links between the ski resorts of St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Méribel, Mottaret, La Tania, Brides les Bains and the four Courchevel resorts, la Praz, 1550, 1650 and the world famous 1850 – and now Orelle, in the fourth valley - all under one ski pass offering on-piste skiing from 1300m all the way up to 3200m. As these figures show the Three Valleys ski area offers huge altitude differences favouring long run skiing.
It has an ultra efficient, state of the art ski lift system, quality piste preparation and a dense artificial snow making system (1920 snow cannons) complementing the excellent natural snow cover. However, if you are not a fan of downhill skiing or like some variety during your stay then you can also roam the domain at your leisure on foot, hiking along the marked trails, or using the pedestrian ski lift passes. Many trails have been created especially to enjoy the increasingly popular snowshoeing sport and to discover the valleys from a new perspective: flora, wildlife, monuments, and spectacular scenery. There are also many cross-country skiing tracks that are prepared and maintained each day. These allow you to take in the breathtaking scenery and provide the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the mountains away from the pistes.
An interesting and wonderful area all year round, there is much more here than the snow sports.
Saint Martin de Belleville Ski Resort
Based at 1400m and directly linked into the vast Three Valleys network by an 8 person gondola, St Martin de Belleville offers unlimited, world-class skiing.
The village is picture perfect, unspoiled and authentic making St Martin de Belleville the perfect ski resort if you are looking for a taste of authentic France combined with state of the art skiing. Clusters of traditional chalets and original Savoyard farmhouses are dominated by the close mountains with chamois and wild boars roaming free in the surrounding forests. St Martin was voted a “Top Ten Picture Postcard resort” for its pretty, traditional architecture and stunning Alpine scenery, it’s interesting to note that the commune have had the foresight to bury all the electric and phone cabling which means that not only does it have a clean uncluttered look, but you are unlikely to lose power when the snow hits!
As an added bonus Val Thorens, officially the highest resort in Europe is situated at the top of the valley offering great skiing from mid-November to mid-May. St Martin also has some of the best and clearest runs in the Three Valleys; with skiing for all levels back down to the village and red run Jerusalem a firm favourite with many, and the confidence inspiring off-piste powder fields have to be experienced to be believed. In the height of summer during July and August the valley is host to walkers, nature lovers and adventure seekers who arrive to enjoy the traditional and less traditional mountain activities along with the colourful mountain meadows and beauty of the contrasting vibrant green against snow capped mountains.
It is also a near neighbour to the Vanoise Park, a protected area of outstanding natural beauty. St Martin de Belleville has a lower key nightlife than its glitzy neighbours. Having said that, the valley boasts two Michelin starred restaurants, one being situated three minutes from the village, the other in Val Thorens. St Martin itself has several friendly bars and restaurants which retain a mountain village atmosphere with prices to match. This ski resort seems ideal for ski and mountain lovers looking for an authentic atmosphere a little apart from the crowds, and out of season it still has life and enough year round residents to stop it feeling like a ghost town.
