Perfectly proportioned, in great condition and sold partly furnished, this sunny south and east facing 2 bedroom apartment, is located in a well maintained, friendly residence in Les Allues – the original village at the heart of the Méribel valley. Ideal for family holidays at any time of the year or for a permanent base for someone moving to the area, it is sold with a storage room and ski locker. Les Allues is the original village of the Méribel valley and offers a number of bars and restaurants, a general store and post office. In the winter there is also a ski hire shop and ski school office. Buses run to and from resort in the summer and winter season taking you to the lifts in only minutes. The Olympe bubble also runs from the village up to the lifts in the winter.

Situated on the 1st floor one can enter the building from either the private car park or the road side. The entry hall of the apartment offers cupboards one of which houses a new washing machine. The bright sunny open plan living and dining area of approximately 11.72m² offers a functional equipped kitchen with electric hob and extractor, fridge/freezer, dish washer, oven-microwave and storage cupboards. The double French doors open onto a wrap-around balcony of 13.60m² just perfect for breakfast or an aperitif whilst enjoying the fabulous views to the east and to the summits of Saulire and Mont Vallon to the south.

The smaller of the two bedrooms offers a single bed but could accommodate bunk beds. The second bedroom is fitted with wardrobes and a double bed. The bathroom is tiled white from floor to ceiling and has a bath. The toilet is separate. The apartment has its own separate electric heating system including a new full size mirror radiator. The water heater is in the apartment. Only the maintenance of the building and cold water is included in the coproperty charges, making them very reasonable (approx. 600€ per year). The large storage room and ski locker are both on the same floor as the apartment for extra convenience and the building also offers a shared bike store room on the ground floor. OPTION for a garage for an additional price.


Les Allues offers the charm of a traditional mountain village with a year round community but great skiing right on the doorstep. It is in reality the hub of the valley, the place where locals and visitors alike rub shoulders sociably at the local store or one of the numerous restaurants or bars that are open all year. The Méribel valley is the perfect place for a holiday home. Its appeal as a destination is undeniable - of course Méribel’s location in the heart of the 3 Valleys means that it is a winter wonderland, but it if anything it is even more beautiful in the summer, generally enjoying warm weather and offering a range of sporting activities: mountain biking, road biking, via ferrata, fly fishing, horse riding, parascending, hiking, glorious mountain walks… The resort offers a variety of children’s activities too including a pool, ice-rink and bowling.

Méribel is just 17km to Moutiers train station (TGV/Eurostar during the winter), and the airports of Geneva (140km) and Lyon (180km), Grenoble (175km) are also within striking distance (approx. 2 hours) as well as the seasonal winter airport of Chambery (100km) just over one hour.

Three Valleys Ski Area

A beautiful place all year with highly defined seasons and quiet and tranquil out of the ski season when the crowds have gone home, and then suddenly once again each winter the mountains of the Three Valleys come alive with people enjoying this vast ski area..... the largest linked skiing in the world.

The Three Valleys ski domain provides more than 600km of runs and probably the same again off-piste. In fact it should now be called the Four Valleys with the link into Orelle (Maurienne Valley) which can be accessed by ski from Val Thorens. This has also opened up some extraordinary off-piste runs. The Three Valleys provides direct links between the ski resorts of St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires, Val Thorens, Méribel, Mottaret, La Tania, Brides les Bains and the four Courchevel resorts, la Praz, 1550, 1650 and the world famous 1850 – and now Orelle, in the fourth valley - all under one ski pass offering on-piste skiing from 1300m all the way up to 3200m. As these figures show the Three Valleys ski area offers huge altitude differences favouring long run skiing.

It has an ultra efficient, state of the art ski lift system, quality piste preparation and a dense artificial snow making system (1920 snow cannons) complementing the excellent natural snow cover. However, if you are not a fan of downhill skiing or like some variety during your stay then you can also roam the domain at your leisure on foot, hiking along the marked trails, or using the pedestrian ski lift passes. Many trails have been created especially to enjoy the increasingly popular snowshoeing sport and to discover the valleys from a new perspective: flora, wildlife, monuments, and spectacular scenery.There are also many cross-country skiing tracks that are prepared and maintained each day. These allow you to take in the breathtaking scenery and provide the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the mountains away from the pistes.

An interesting and wonderful area all year round, there is much more here than the snow sports.

Meribel Ski Resort

Méribel is one of most popular resorts in Europe for English-speaking skiers along with Courchevel and Val d’Isere.


Meribel is the central valley of the largest ski domain in the world, Les 3 Vallées.


With 600 km of groomed pistes, 85% of which are above 1800 metres, 25 accessible summits, 174 modern lifts and over 2090 snow cannons covering 43% of the ski area the statistics are impressive as is the skiing. However Méribel is much more than the 5 month winter ski season and an extended stay in summer or during the colours of autumn are needed to appreciate this.


The initial development of the ski resort in the late 1930’s was a British and French partnership and this acceptance of English speakers continues to this day. Méribel is now a much more diverse international community with a large percentage of residents or visitors speaking English as their main or second language.


The main village of Méribel is built on the eastern side of the valley between 1450 and 1700 metres and because of this it is surrounded by forests or grass & timbered slopes. The strict architectural codes of alpine sloping rooflines, timber and stone cladding compliments this setting and makes it one of, if not the most, attractive of all the large high altitude French ski resorts.


The other major “resort villages” are Méribel Mottaret (1750 m), Méribel Village (1400 m), Les Allues (1100m) and the spa town of Brides-Les-Bains (600 m) at the very bottom of the valley. There are many smaller villages or hamlets so the range of property covers all tastes from barn conversions & village houses through to ski apartments and super luxury ski in ski out chalets with private swimming pools. As well as the normal range of hotels, bars, restaurants & shops Méribel boasts a range of facilities and activities.


The Méribel Olympic Centre is home to a full size ice rink, indoor climbing wall, 25 metres indoor heated pool and water slide, conference centre, gymnasium and wellness centre of spa, steamrooms, etc.


There is a spectacular 18 hole Golf Course at 1700 metres and a huge range of other outdoor activities such as tennis, hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, paragliding, fishing, etc which are enjoyed in the warmer months. Méribel property is generally more expensive than other French resorts but not yet at the dizzy heights of Courchevel 1850 with perhaps the exception of a few of the most prestigious pockets.


As Méribel continues to become ever more popular with the big spenders of the world the strong capital growth experienced over many many years is likely to continue.
