For Sale near Morzine and Les Gets, this is a must see chalet in the Portes du Soleil ski area. The owner has lovingly restored this farmhouse, converting it into a thriving, successful, winter ski-business and summer mountain refuge. The highest quality of craftsmanship and choice of finish fittings in this ski chalet/barn renovation are reflected by the owner’s astute attention to detail. On a stunning and sizeable plot of 4160m² the detached property is perched on the mountainside overlooking the lovely village of La Baume, the views from here are exquisite. The property boasts 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, sauna, a large wine cave, 2 kitchens, 2 living rooms with an open fire and a wood burner. Separate entrances, giving the versatility to use the property for business purposes or as refuge for a large family.
The current layout of the farmhouse gives 3 designated areas, which all have their own exterior access, yet share an interior entrance hallway, giving options to run the property as a self-contained business or large family home Upper Ground Floor From the entrance hall, enter this self-contained 4-bedroom part of the farmhouse. This is a fully equipped chalet within the house and is set over two floors, including an open plan kitchen-diner-living room, plus four good size double bedrooms. The bespoke kitchen, with double ceramic butlers sink, has views overlooking the front of the property while the living room, with it’s access out onto the balcony, gives a contrasting spectacular backdrop of the mountains and valley below. This cosy and light living space of 35m2 has a wood-burning stove and is full of charm and character. All four bedrooms are spacious with en suite washrooms.
On the top level of this beautiful property there are two bedrooms that share a family sized bathroom. The larger of the two rooms boasts stunning architecture, displaying the original open beams and breathtaking views through a triangular window. This window dominates the back wall behind the Master bed setting off the whole space as a living mural with views as far as the eye can see. The second bedroom on this level is tucked under the eaves to create a very cute little twin with light entering through a velux window. These two bedrooms share one bathroom with shower.
The “owners” area offers the option of a second self-contained part of the house or it can be the warmth and heart of this large family house, if it was to be used as one home. From the beautiful rear garden, with phenomenal views, enter the original oversized farmhouse door into a good-sized farmhouse kitchen/dining room boasting crafted wooden units and beautiful light marble worktop sink, with matching surfaces. A wood-burning stove heats the room. The spacious Master bedroom sits off this delightful kitchen and, with light streaming in from the large windows and door that lead out onto the garden, it is another feature gem of this property. The en suite has been finished to the highest level, with large bath, aged wood, high-end fittings all in keeping with the renovation that has been done to this property. Crossing from the Master bedroom back across the kitchen is the sitting room. This is a beautiful room with plenty of windows to capture the light and fabulous chimney with an open fire.
Lower Ground Floor
Heading from the living room down a trap door stairwell is located the Spa area with a Sauna and power shower near to the vaulted ceiling wine cave/cellar. This area also hosts a laundry space with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The levelled garden that leads out from the rear of the farmhouse offers al fresco dining in a truly stunning spot. It has a trough with mountain source water. Car port and parking for several cars.

Situated mid-way between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, the ever popular resort of Morzine is absolutely stunning, well known for its Alpine scenery, nestled between forests and summits. Life is leisurely, and the village although vibrant and bustling has lost nothing of its original charm and Savoyard way of life. Ideally situated right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, Morzine is the gateway to a marvellous winter playground of 650 km of ski-slopes where you can ski from French into Switzerland and back again all in one day. When it comes to lunchtime you are spoilt for choice with all the mountain restaurants scattered everywhere.
In summer, these slopes become sign-posted footpaths for trekking and moutain biking. Originally life in Morzine was one of agriculture and slate-mines but with the opening of the ‘Grand Hotel’ (first tourist hotel built in the 1920’s) and its owner François Baud opened up a new opportunities for the village and it’s in habitants. Then in 1934 the Pleney cable car was opened and the thick covering of snow started some previously unknown sports: tobogganing, ski-jöring (towed behind a horse), the beginnings of downhill skiing and even ski-jumping!
If ski or snow boarding instruction is the order of the day there are avariety of French and English speaking Instructors in the ski schools.
There is a vast array of shops, bars and restaurants, offering plenty to non-skiers as well and for after ski fun. This makes Morzine a good all year round resot for those who live here and those with Holiday homes.
